While in school, President Reagan played football and worked as a lifeguard. After he graduated, he worked as a radio sports announcer. As president, he began the tradition of routinely inviting national champions of multiple sports to the White House to celebrate. The Reagan Library has balls, sports equipment, jerseys, and other artifacts relating to sports at all levels.
