Physical DescriptionAn official inaugural medal with the likeness of Ronald Reagan and around the edges of the medal, "Ronald Reagan" on the front. On the back is the image of the Capitol Building and the Seal of the President with the text "40th President of the United States of America, January 20, 1981, First Inaugural on the West Front. "Included with the medal is a Navy blue leather presentation case.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
