Physical DescriptionA Céline rectangular black velvet minaudière evening bag with leather sides and flap closure and statin corded wrist strap with tassel. On the flap is a gold and diamond emblem of mirrored “C”s with the diamonds in between. The interior is all black.
Historical NoteThe bag was given during a State Dinner for Jean, Grand Duke of Luxembourg, and Princess Joséphine-Charlotte, the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, which was held at the White House on November 13, 1984.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
