Physical DescriptionA set of four gold, red, white, and blue Washington, DC 1985 Inaugural license plates. The top is gold and lettered “THE 50TH AMERICAN’ in red with a row of red stars below. The bottom is gold with a row of red stars and lettered “1789 PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURAL 1985” in red. The center is white with the 1985 Inaugural logo of the Capitol building and an eagle with a shield in gold and blue to the left. The center is lettered “1” in blue. There are four round holes, one at each corner. The back is plain silver.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
