Physical DescriptionA commemorative gold coin was issued for the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. The coin's obverse features the image of Two Olympic runners holding a torch.Along with text stating “LIBERTY IN GOD WE TRUST LOS ANGELES 1984 OLYMPIAD XXIII.” The verso of the coin features an image of the Great Seal of the United States featuring a heraldic eagle. Along with the text stating “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA TEN DOLLARS E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
