Physical DescriptionA piece of Hopi pottery depicting a Native American design in dark browns and tans on top of a pale beige background. The bottom of the jar is signed “Evelyn Poolheco.”Historical NoteThe pot was given when First Lady Nancy Reagan during a Youth Book Launching event in the on East Room of the White House on February 22, 1985. Actress Soleil Moon Frye, known for Punky Brewster, was also in attendance.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
