Physical DescriptionA silver metal belt buckle depicts a scene of a mountain man sitting on a horse somewhere on the American frontier. On the verso is text stating, "The American frontier was opened up by a daring breed who came to be known as Mountain Men. These rugged and freedom loving individuals lived off the land and saw an America that few others have ever seen" at top right corner. Copyright 1982, Siskiyou Leather and Buckle Co. Inc., Williams, Oregon.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
