Physical DescriptionAn Egyptian rosewater pitcher made of repoussé brass with a long handle and elongated pouring spout. The top of the pitcher is a hinged dome-shaped. The metal work design is an abstract floral design.
Historical NoteThe pitcher was given following the welcoming ceremony during the official visit by President Sadat on August 5, 1981. President Reagan spoke on the South Lawn of the White House, where President Sadat was given a formal welcome with full military honors. Following the ceremony, the two Presidents met in the Oval Office where President Sadat gave additional gifts to President and Mrs. Reagan. That night there was a State Dinner in President Anwar el-Sadat's honor.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
