Physical DescriptionA cardboard sculpture of a giant lollipop. The lollipop background is bright green with white text stating “HELP ‘LICK’ ARTHRITIS” and a purple ribbon around the stick.Historical NoteOn May 23, 1985 President Ronald Reagan met with Lindsey Joffe, the 1985 National Poster Child for the Arthritis Foundation of America, and her family in the Oval Office. After the little girl presented him with the gift on behalf of the Arthritis Foundation, President Reagan said, "What a lollipop that is!"

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
