Physical DescriptionA bronze sculpture of a dolphin leaping through the air mounted on a black marble base. Painted on the fluke in gold is text stating " © JAGGER '84 18/MIAMI." Mounted to the marble base is a small plate engraved with the text "MIAMI DOLPHINS 1984."
Historical NoteThe sculpture was given in advance of President Ronald Reagan's trip to Florida on May 27, 1985 where he attended the Inaugural Bands Parade at Disney's Epcot Center in Orlando and a fundraising Dinner for Sen. Paula Hawkins in Miami.
Joe Robbie was one of the founders of and the then-owner of the Miami Dolphins NFL team. In 1984, under quarterback Dan Marino, the Dolphins went 14–2, won the AFC Championship, but lost to the 49ers in Super Bowl XIX.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
