Physical DescriptionAn enlarged copy of the political cartoon "Heal! (To The Chief!)(GET WELL SOON, MR.PRESIDENT)" by Mike Ricigliano mounted on white artboard. The Cartoon features an image of a smiling President Reagan sitting in a hospital bed, reading a book titled "Cowboy Classic." To the left of Reagan is a nightstand with a jar of "MEDICINAL JELLYBEANS", flowers, and another book titled "RAMBO FIRST BLOODTEST PART II." To the right of Reagan is a telephone with a sign stating "HOTLINE TO NURSE." At the end of the bed is a pair of cowboy boots with "RR" on them and a graph titled "INTESTINAL FORTITUDE." The carton has three lines for the sender to fill in "from: B Maurice Forley, address: James S. Tudman & The News American, Comment: (left blank)." Verso is blank.
Historical NoteThis is an elarged copy of the original get-well themed cartoon that was published in the Baltimore New American after President Reagn had surgery in July 1985 to remove a polyp in his intestines. Subscribers to the newspaper also cut out and sent additional copies of the cartoon to the president.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
