Physical DescriptionThis is a handheld fan with leaves made of paper and a hand-painted mountain and flora scene. The sticks of the fan are made out of wood, and the guard is painted with a brown scroll design. The bottom of the guard is painted white, and it is all held together with a metal rivet. There is an English and Korean inscription painted on the left side of the fan. The English inscription reads, “From your Korean friend, Col. Lee Jae-Ho, 1981.”Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
