Physical DescriptionCampaign ribbon for Teddy Roosevelt in the 1904 election. The white satin ribbon has woven in black a portrait of Roosevelt and the words "For President 1904 Theodore Roosevelt."Historical NoteRoosevelt, who became president after the assassination of William McKinley in 1901, was elected to his own term as president, but promised during the campaign it would be his last. He did not run again in 1908, but ran unsuccessfully in 1912 for the Progressive ("Bull Moose") party.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
