Physical DescriptionThis burlap-covered plaque is mounted with two boomerangs and two other wood pieces. The boomerangs are decorated in red, yellow, black, and white on the ends, and feature stylized kangaroos in the center. One wood panel has a flightless bird, such as a kiwi or cassowary, and the other has a snake. They have a Queensland Aboriginal stamp on the reverse.
Historical NoteThe plaque was given at a barbeque held for the White House Press Corps at San Marcos Ranch in Santa Barbara, CA on September 3, 1982.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
