Physical DescriptionA silver horseshoe-shaped belt buckle with an abalone shell set in a braided silver circle in the center. The center section is surrounded by a circle of braided and then smooth metal, and there are two irregular pieces of abalone in the center. On the back of the buckle is a silver-colored fastener.
Historical NoteThe buckle was made from scrap metal from the North Anna nuclear power plant in Louisa County, VA, by members of Steamfitters Union 602.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
