Physical DescriptionThis organic-shaped medallion, with one side depicting various events in French history and the other side depicting 1980s-era French sites, was sculpted by P. Rock, minted at the Paris Hotel Des Monnaies et De Médailles, and has a presentation plaque.

Historical NoteAssociation Les Tournelles brought the medallion with them when they visited Washington, DC on June 24, 1981.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
