Physical DescriptionA saw with a wooden handle manufactured in 1887 that was later painted with the main street view of Tampico, Illinois. Black text at the end of the saw states, "Ronald Reagan's Small Town Roots Tampico, Illinois," and at the opposite end of the blade, "The Higgen." The back of the saw is painted black with a white inscription "Painted by: Paula Naffziger Box 83 Delavan, Illinois" and an orange sticker with a smiley face and black text "Paula Naffziger Box 83 Delavan, IL 41734, Phone 329-244-7183."

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
