Physical DescriptionA solid brass belt buckle with a bulldog at the center with the letter "g" on its back. Above the dog are the words "Georgia Bulldogs'' and below the dog is the ribbon with the words "1980 National Champions." The back of the belt buckle is stamped with "Registered Collection, solid brass, C&B, (c) 1981, Heritage Mint LTD."Historical NoteThe belt buckle with a bas relief of Uga, the University of Georgia's bulldog mascot. The first Uga was used as a mascot in 1956, and was named Uga for the U(niversity of) GA. As of 2023, there have been ten Ugas, all descended from the original dog, with Uga X serving since 2015.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
