Physical DescriptionA fabric patch bearing the symbol of the National Society of Scabbard and Blade. The image is of a golden eagle crossed with two swords in scabbards on a black background. The eagle is holding an olive branch and thirteen arrows in its talons. Beneath the eagle are the words “Scabbard and Blade” in white. The edges of the patch are edged with white thread.
Historical NoteThe society is dedicated to support aspiring military officers, and has programs for JROTC and ROTC.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
