Physical DescriptionA bronze sculpture of an emaciated wolf with its tongue protruding from its open mouth, created by Mike Casper. The sculpture is mounted on a wood base with an engraved presentation plaque stating, “ It’s been a great year, U.S. Taxpayer, by M. Casper.” The bronze is signed by Mike Casper and dated 1980. This is Number 16 out of a limited edition of 900.
Historical NoteThe sculpture was presented to President Ronald Reagan in the Oval Office by Rep. Ron Marlenee (R-MT) on October 5, 1981.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
