Physical DescriptionThis is an Autocrat pocket watch made by the Illinois Watch Company with a desk stand. It is made of gold and filled with 17 jewels. The case has a filigree design on the back. The watch face numbers are in Roman numerals, and the seconds hand is separate from the minutes and hours. The serial number is 2921997. The watch was restored by James E. Ritchey.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
