Physical DescriptionA wooden award with three metal plaques attached to the front. The topmost plaque is the outline of the continental United States with a round metal logo for the event mounted at the center. The middle plaque is an outline of the state of Virginia with a larger event logo mounted at the center. Between the state of Virginia and the engraved plaque are three identical even logo emblems. The bottom plaque is square and engraved: “PRESENTED TO Ronald Wilson Reagan PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, A NATIVE AMERICAN MOLDED IN THE IMAGE OF OUR FOUNDING FATHERS. YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF AND DEDICATION TO THE PRINCIPLES OF FREE ENTERPRISE HAS CAUSED YOUR CONTEMPORARIES TO HOLD YOU IN HIGH ESTEEM AND WILL BE LONG REMEMBERED BY YOUR FELLOW AMERICANS. Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
