Physical DescriptionA red wool stadium coat bearing a “BSA” Patch and another patch lettered “National Honorary President.” The coat has six buttons down the front, one closure on each sleeve, and two closures on the pockets.Historical NoteOn February 5, 1981 President Reagan attended the ceremony to receive the Boy Scouts Annual Report to the Nation in the Oval Office with scouts and BSA President Dr. Thomas MacAvoy. He was also given the Boy Scouts jacket.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
