Physical DescriptionA hand-carved wooden plaque of The Great Seal of The United States is attached to a piece of pressed board and then attached to an additional wooden board. The back of the board has American flag-themed paper trim around a burlap fabric with an inscription that reads. “To the President of the United States of America Ronald Reagan. I hope under your presidency this contry [sic] will be again be democracy and freedom leader. God Bless America! Sincerely, Sergio A. Vasallo Miami 1981” in black ink.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
