Physical DescriptionA first day cover commemorating the royal wedding of the Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer. The left side of the envelope features a light image of St. Paul's Cathedral overlaid with the Family Crest for the Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer, and the text "St. Paul's Cathedral 29th July 1981 First Day of Issue." The right side of the envelope has two colored stamps featuring Lady Diana and Prince Charles: one has a white background and a silver silhouette of the Queen, and the other has a light blue background with a dark blue silhouette of the Queen. Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
