Physical DescriptionAbstract brass sculpture on a square black marble base.Historical NoteIt was given during a state visit by João Baptista de Oliveira Figueiredo, President of Brazil, and First Lady Dulce Figueiredo on May 12, 1982. There was a Welcoming Ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House, followed by a private meeting in the Oval Office, meetings in the Cabinet Room and Roosevelt Room, and a formal dinner held in the State Dining Room.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
