Physical DescriptionThis is a needlepoint depicting a blue and red elephant on a gray background. The elephant comprises the words "NASSAU GOP," with Nassau in blue forming the top and GOP in red forming the bottom of the elephant. The design is from the letterhead of the Nassau County Republican Committee. In the lower right corner is "SMITH" in white, for maker Evelyne Smith. It is in a blue plastic frame with a picture hanging wire. Verso is backed in gray paper with a sticker for Create-A-Frame, Inc. of Mineola, NY.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
