Physical DescriptionA gold coin commemorating King Saud Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud from 1967. On the obverse is a portrait of the King facing left with text stating, "Saud Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud 1953-1964." On the reverse of the coin is an image with a flag, palm tree, and crossed sabers with text stating "King Of Kingdom of Arabia 1967."
Historical NoteThe coin was given on March 28, 1982 when the then-Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia attended the PBS Young Americans in Performance at the White House in the East Room. Crown Prince Fahd became king less than three months later upon the death of his elder brother, King Khalid.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
