Physical DescriptionA white and brown marble ashtray that is inscribed "TO RONALD REAGAN WITH BEST WISHES ANTONIO GANITO" in gold.Historical NoteAntónio Ganito, the owner of the Lisbeto Restaurant in in Borba, Portugal, created a dessert called the “Reaganof” as an homage to President Reagan. After President Reagan sent an autographed photo, Ganito gifted him this marble ashtray.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
