Physical DescriptionA wooden candy dispenser with a plexi front. Nails are placed in a ramp-like pattern to transfer candy from the top of the dispenser to the slot at the bottom. Painted on the top center of the plexi is text stating "AMERICAN BEAN MACHINE." At the bottom right corner is a red eagle with the letters "R R." The back of the dispinser is engraved "TO PRESIDENT REAGAN 'MAY GOD BLESS' CREATIONS BY KARL M. DUHNAM 1982."Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
