Physical DescriptionA carved ivory elephant sculpture with an upward pointing trunk (.05a). The elephant has gold accessories set with rubies, sapphires, and diamonds. It is set on an organic shaped black teak base (.05b).Historical NoteThis elephant figurine is made of carved ivory and gold set with rubies, sapphires, and diamonds on a teakwood base. It was from the personal collection of HM the King of Thailand. Queen Sirikit gave it to President Reagan during a private dinner at the White House in 1985 in her honor. It was on display in the White House Residence Yellow Oval Room.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and was on display in the White House until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
