Historical NoteIn the election of 1892 incumbent Republican President Benjamin Harrison decided to drop Vice President Levi P. Morton from the ticket in favor of newspaper editor and author Whitelaw Reid. The Harrison/Reid ticket would lose to former President Grover Cleveland, who became the only person elected to a non-consecutive second presidential term, and his running mate Adlai Stevenson. Reid, who had previously served as the Harrison's Ambassador to France, later became the Ambassador to the United Kingdom under presidents Theodore Roosevelt and
William Howard Taft.
The poster previously was displayed at President Ronald Reagan's ranch, Rancho del Cielo.
