Physical DescriptionRound brass belt buckle with raised relief after Remington’s sculpture, “Coming Through the Rye,” which has four cowboys on horseback with raised pistols. Along the top edge is “COMING THROUGH THE RYE” in raised letters. Along the bottom edge is “October 1902,” which is the date of the original sculpture. On the back is a fastener with a loop, lettered “SOLID BRASS” on the fastener.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
