Physical DescriptionAn oval brass belt buckle with a cut rope design on the edge and a rough finish on the face. There is a silver colored metal loop and pin fastener on the back. “JOMS” and “OUR FIRST LADY THANK YOU FOR YOUR FAITH AND ALWAYS BEING THERE WHEN WE AND HE NEEDED YOU” are engraved on the back.Historical NoteGifter James Stam, a former plumber, made this belt buckle for First Lady Nancy Reagan out of pipe fittings.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
