Physical DescriptionA 14-kt gold oval belt buckle commemorating 100 years of service by the Dallas police. The buckle design features three badge designs and a rope detail along the edge. The front of the buckle states, "ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF SERVICE, DALLAS POLICE, DALLAS TEXAS, POLICE OFFICER, 1881-1981." The back of the buckle is stamped "AWARD DESIGN MEDAL, INC., P.O. BOX 1088, NORMAN, OKLAHOMA 79070, 24 GP."Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
