Historical NoteOn October 19, 1987 President Reagan met in the Roosevelt Room with officials from Saudi Arabia, including then-Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia. Prince Adbullah gave President Reagan the sculpture on the occasion of that meeting. During the Reagan administration it was on display in the White House Residence, 2nd Floor Center Hall.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and was on display in the White House until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
