Physical DescriptionA blue ceramic jewelry box with white floral detailing made in an Art Nouveau style. The box has a hinged lid, two large white flowers, and two buds. The edges of the box are decorated with the same white flower style.Historical NoteIt was a gift of Gnassingbe Eyadema, President of the Republic of Togo during a meeting with President Reagan in the Oval Office on October 24, 1983.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
