Physical DescriptionA commemorative coin that honors the Statue of Liberty on its 100th anniversary. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty head to left with birds flying over dates to the right. The text on the obverse states "1886" and "1986," along with the words "REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE." The reverse displays a tree-like design with the inscriptions "LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE," the denomination "100F," and the year "1986." Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
