Physical DescriptionAn eight-branch menorah (.a) made of gold-plated silver filigree with an inverted triangular body and diamond-shaped base. It is on a burgundy velvet topped olive wood base(.b). The plaque on the base has text stating, "TO PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN WITH PROFOUND RESPECT AND APPRECIATION JANUARY 1983, YITZHAK NAVON, PRESIDENT OF ISRAEL."

Historical NoteIt was given prior to President Navon's meeting with President Reagan in the Oval Office January 5, 1982. During the Reagan administration it was on display White House West Wing Picture Room.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and was on display in the White House until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
