Physical DescriptionA desk set of gold-plated sterling silver engraved with facsimile signatures of King Juan Carlos and Queen Sophia dated October 1981. The desk set is two-tiered, with an area to hold paper on the top and two gold-plated feather pens.
Historical NoteThe desk set was given during a state visit to Washington, DC October 13, 1981. It was on display in the White House in the Queen's Bedroom until it was sent to the Library.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and on display in the White House until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
