Physical DescriptionA silver pendant in the shape of a swooping eagle with outstretched talons. The back is stamped “775” and etched with a symbol of a circle over two vertical lines and a bar and “76” on the leg. There is a ring at the top for a chain.
Historical NoteThe pendant was given to President Reagan by his friend Lloyd M. Taggart during a photo op in the Oval Office February 1, 1982. It was a gift intended for Nancy Reagan. Taggart had served as an aide on the 1980 campaign, and in 1983 President Reagan appointed Taggart to be a member of the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
