Physical DescriptionA set of two red, white, and blue Washington, DC 1981 Inaugural license plates. The top is red and lettered "WASHINGTON, D.C." in white. The middle is white with an image of a waving American flag on the left, and lettered "L-875" in blue. There are no license tags. The bottom stripe is blue and lettered "U.S.A. PRESIDENTIAL INUAGURATION 1981" in white. There are four oval holes in each corner. The back is plain silver.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a memento retained by the White House during the Reagan administration for the Library. It was received through to the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
