Physical DescriptionA gold-plated oval belt buckle with a cut rope design on the edge and three raised badge designs for the Dallas Police Department across the center. Across the top is "ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF SERVICE" in raised letters, and "1881 -1981" across the bottom. A gold loop and pin fastener on the back with text stating "AWARD DESIGN MEDALS, INC. P.O. BOX 1088 NORMAN, OK 73070" in raised letters.Historical NoteThe buckle was given on behalf of the members of the Dallas Police Association.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
