Physical DescriptionA doll dressed in the native costume of Belarus: a white high-necked long-sleeved blouse embroidered in red and black cross stitch floral and geometric design; a red vest with white buttons; a red, tan, green, yellow, and black plaid full length skirt; a white apron with same cross stitch design and “A BIELASUSIAN” in red cross stitch; and a white kerchief with same cross stitch design. The doll has a plastic body, blue eyes that open and close, black lashes, and light brown curly hair. It has a gray stand, with “KAISER CHICAGO” etched on the bottom, along with a crown.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
