Physical DescriptionA brass key to the City of Burbank, CA. A metal key mounted to a block of wood with a metal presentation plaque, all contained in a red velvet-lined box. The metal plaque is engraved "PRESENTED TO PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN, GREETINGS AND BEST WISHES FROM THE BURBANK CITY COUNCIL, BURBANK, CALIFORNIA, APRIL 1981." The bit of the key looks like several art deco buildings. The stem of the key is embossed with "City of Burbank." The key's bow is a cross with filigree layered with the letter "b."Historical NoteIt was given to President Reagan by the mayor at the airport in April 1981.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
