Physical DescriptionA brass carriage clock (.a) in a brass case with beveled glass sides, top, and back, revealing the inner workings. There are columns in each corner and dentals across the top and bottom. There is a heart and floral filigree design on the front. The clock face is white with black Roman numerals for the hours, dashed for the minutes, and black hands. “Chas Frodsham” is lettered in black script above the hands, and “London” below. There is a hinged handle on the top. The glass on the back is lettered “Chas Frodsham London” in gold script. Also included is a clock key with a cloverleaf outline in the center (b).Historical NoteIt was given during a trip to England June 1982, and during the Reagan administration it was on display in the White House Residence West Sitting Hall.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and was on display in the White House until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
