Physical DescriptionA handmade postcard with a collage of images cut out from magazines related to the military, including an F-4E Phantom II fighter jet, sailors in dress blue uniforms saluting, and a wall of sandbags, with a sunset mountain scene in the background. The back of the postcard is inscribed, "If Jimmy Carter is re-elected this is where we will be. At war he just keeps raising prices."
Historical NoteStudents at Fremont Ross High School in Fremont, OH made handmade postcards which they sent to the Reagan-Bush Committee during the election of 1980. These postcards have political themes such as the threat of nuclear war, democracy, Iran, the cost of gasoline, and taxes.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
