Physical DescriptionA hidden pictures drawing depicting Thomas Jefferson standing perplexed outside of Monticello. It is lettered "HELP THOMAS JEFFERSON FIND THE THINGS HE NEEDS TO WRITE THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE" across the top. At the right is a list of things to find with their outlines: QUILL PEN (feather), INK (inkwell), PAPER (a rolled scroll), DICTIONARY (book), and THNKING CAP (a tricorn hat). The drawing is lettered "S. BROXHOLM" alongside the right edge of the image. The verso is blank.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
