Physical DescriptionA miniature turquoise metal sculpture of the Statue of Liberty on a wooden base. On the top portion of the base is a silver coin with the Statue of Liberty Centennial logo and the text "LIBERTY 1886 * CENTENNIAL * 1986." Below the coin is a small metal plaque with text stating "PLATED WITH COPPER FROM THE ACTUAL STATUE OF LIBERTY." Stuck to the underside of the base is a large sticker with text stating "DESIGNED AND PRODUCED EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE DANBURY MINT."Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
