Physical DescriptionA German silver oval belt buckle with rope design edge and floral scrollwork. It is engraved “RONALD REAGAN” in a gold ribbon detail on the top edge and “40TH PRESIDENT” on a ribbon on the bottom. In the center is a raised goldplated horse, and “19” and “82” in gold on the sides. The silver-colored metal loop and pin fastener on the back are engraved with the word “Pearl River High School Social Studies Club April 1982” in the script. Below is stamped “MONTANA SILVERSMITHS GERMAN SILVER COLUMBUS, MONT.”
Historical NoteThe buckle was given for President Ronald Reagan to Rep. Bob Livingston (R-LA) when the Pearl River High School Social Studies Club visited his office during a trip to Washington, DC on April 26, 1982.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
